Dive Trip Informations

Upon arrival in Egypt, SIM cards can be purchased from various providers. On board, WIFI is limited and cannot be guaranteed at all-time.

The traveler may only sue the operator in the country of its registration. Jurisdiction is Egypt.
If MY Carlton is not operational at short notice due to technical reasons, a free rebooking to a different date is possible. Alternatively, we will try to organize a replacement boat (no legal entitlement). Route changes may occur due to technical issues, authority orders, or permit changes. Additional permit fees are non-refundable. No refunds will be made for weather-related changes or trip cancellations.

While it is unlikely that changes will need to be made, we plan months in advance and reserve the right to do so. Most changes are minor and we will inform you promptly. We reserve the right to transfer guests to a resort or switch boats if the need arises.
No insurance (travel, baggage, accident, health, or dive insurance) is included. It is your responsibility to ensure adequate coverage. 

Please Note: It is important that you carefully check the written confirmation when you receive it. For last-minute bookings, it is essential that all details meet your expectations. Our obligation is to provide the trip you booked. If you later wish to change or cancel this agreement, you may have to pay change or cancellation fees, which can amount up to the full original price.

For groups of two or more people, the person who actually makes the booking is the one we enter into the contract with, and this person is responsible for the payment for all group members. We will send all documents and other information only to this person, who is responsible for keeping the other group members fully informed.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise in these terms, we are not liable and will not pay compensation or refunds if our contractual obligations are affected by "events beyond our control." We are not responsible for additional expenses you may incur from another provider in connection with your booking, such as insurance, flights, hotels, transfers, or local arrangements including car rental.
“Events beyond our control” refer to all events outside our or our supplier’s control whose consequences could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken. Examples include war, terrorism (and threats thereof), civil unrest, serious health risks such as disease outbreaks at the travel destination, natural disasters like floods or earthquakes, weather conditions making travel unsafe, acts of government or other authorities, labor disputes, port authority decisions, technical transportation issues, or similar unforeseen situations.

Diving Regulations:
All divers must sign a medical declaration and liability waiver. For safety reasons, a dive computer, surface marker buoy, and dive torch are mandatory on every dive.
To participate in a safari, you must hold an Open Water Diver or equivalent certification and have logged at least 30 dives. Participation in all dives, especially wreck dives, depends on your qualification and experience. Strong currents are to be expected. All routes are subject to Egyptian authorities’ approval and may change due to weather or official regulations. Final routing is determined on board in consultation with the group. The captain and dive guide make the final decision in the interest of guest safety. Missed dives due to weather, technical issues, or restrictions are not refundable, including Marine Park and Surcharges. Night dives and snorkeling are prohibited at the National Park Ras Mohamed. 

Required Information (no later than 10 days before trip start):

• Passport copy (valid for at least 6 months upon entry)
  • Dive certification copy
  • Number of logged dives
  • Flight details (if transfer is included)
  • Nitrox, 15-liter tank, rental equipment
  • Dive insurance policy
  • Emergency contact information

Medications

We only carry basic emergency medications on board. Please bring a supply of any personal medication you may need, including medicine for stomach upset, seasickness tablets or patches, and Ear drops. Make sure your medications do not affect your diving ability.

Last Dive

Usually around noon the day before departure. Please plan at least 24 hours between your last dive and your flight home.

Possession or use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited for safety and legal reasons. Violations will lead to immediate exclusion from the trip and may result in legal consequences.

Travel Schedule (Saturday to Saturday)

• Saturday: Check-in from 3:00 PM
• Sunday to Friday: Diving at sea
• Friday: Return to harbor around 2:00 PM
• Saturday: Check-out at 10:00 AM
  We are happy to store your luggage after check-out while you wait for departure.

Onboard Rules

• No smoking indoors or on the dive deck
• No wet suits in the salon or cabins – slip hazard
• Keep portholes closed while sailing or in rough weather
• Don’t flush paper or objects down the toilet
• No cigarette butts or trash in the sea
• No topless sunbathing – respect local customs
• Respect local religion and culture
• Drink plenty of water – ~1 liter per dive
• No alcohol before diving
• Check dive is mandatory
• No decompression dives allowed
• Every diver must have a dive computer and SMB
• Max depth: 40 m (with proper certification)
• Always dive in buddy teams
• 3-minute safety stop at 5 m is mandatory
• Dive within your personal limits
• Don’t touch marine life or coral
• Control your buoyancy at all times
• Observe from a distance – don’t scare animals
• Take nothing – leave nothing

Violations may lead to exclusion from diving activities.

• Don’t take things too seriously – stay relaxed
• Don’t get angry – it reduces your enjoyment
• Act like a local in a foreign country
• Don’t judge everyone by one bad experience
• Treat others with respect – the way you want to be treated

Useful Packing Tips

• Coffee capsules (for onboard DeLonghi machine – not available in Egypt) so please bring it yourself
• Long pants, sweater, windproof jacket (it can get chilly at night)
• Light summer clothes, swimwear, T-shirts
• Reef-safe sunscreen
• Clean indoor slippers or flip-flops (no street shoes on board)
• Warm hat for after diving
• Choose your wetsuit wisely – full suits with hoods are best; avoid shorty’s or bright yellow/white fins

• Camera, spare parts for mask/fins

Even with a doctor's certificate, the onboard medical form must be completed. If you answer “yes” to any questions, we must consult a doctor to confirm dive fitness.
